Tom Keck Photography

About the photographer
A lifelong free-lance news photographer, Tom has been shooting surfing since the 50’s when he attended college in Hawaii. In the late 1950’s and early 60’s, shooting mostly black and white film, he captured some classic moments along the North Shore of Oahu. He shot Peter Cole at Pipeline and Greg Noll at Wiamea Bay. At Makaha he has some classic shots of the late Rell Sunn, “the Queen of Makaha.” Tom has done everything from having his own photography studio in Del Mar to working full time as a news cameraman for KGTV Channel 10. He is an award-winning photographer with several Emmy’s to his credit as well as being inducted into the Surfing Hall of Fame in 1993 for his photography work. He has an extensive collection of vintage surfing photos, many of which have never been published.
